Personalized Gifts to the Rescue for Great for Wedding Plans
Well I am finally biting the bullet and getting married. I have been a confirmed bachelor now for so long that it is hard to realize how much life will change in the near future. At the ripe old age of 39 I will be getting married for the first time to the love of my life. I guess it is about time.
My fiancée and I have been dating for three years. I think she had almost given up on me but I finally popped the question last week. I feel lucky that she waited so long. I felt that I had to get my career in a better place particularly after I started my technical consulting company. And call me stupid but I wanted to pay off those nasty student loans before I got too serious about life and a family. I hoped to save the money that a large wedding will cost and make a down payment on a house instead. I am probably just a bit too practical and boring.
No way is that going to happen now! If I thought we would just make a quick trip to a chapel in Las Vegas instead of spending money on a lavish wedding I must have been out of my mind. That concept seems to be out of the question. Both of our families and our friends are so excited that all they are talking about since we announced the engagement is wedding plans.
As wedding arrangements are not my area of expertise I have been charged with the responsibility for only a few of the many activities that have to be done for our June Wedding. One assignment is an obvious fit given my technical inclinations. I am in creating and keeping up with the Wedding Planning Schedule. It seems that getting married and planning a wedding requires a Wedding Project Plan these days. I also have to select Grooms gifts, toasting glasses and wedding favors. Considering the enormity of the list I got out easy. First I found a free MS Project Wedding Planning Template. Is that cheating? I would rather not reinvent the wheel if I do not have to.
Then after a brief online search I decided to buy each of my groomsmen an Engraved Leather Toiletry Bag and Personalized Leather Money Clip and Card Holder. I also found great ideas for Wedding Favors in this online store’s Personalized Gift Department. They make things really easy because they offer a complete line of engraved and monogrammed glassware. I selected the Gold Rimmed Engraved Toasting Glasses for our wedding toast glasses. I already have the ring so now all I have left to do is to buy a Tux. Do you think I might be living in a fantasy world? My bride to be seems to be just a touch overwhelmed so I am certain my list will get longer.
If you have tips for how to save money or time please leave a comment. I am looking for suggestions you might have! While I am looking forward to getting married, this wedding thing is just a bit daunting.

[…] Favors and Thank You Notes. Being a smart MBA type liberated woman she has also assigned me a Wedding Task List. Guys if you have any tips for how to survive, please let me know. I am all ears.
